ah, stick on hood pins... nice.
the kid I bought my protege from had those on the car when I bought it... thankfully they're easy to remove!

Yes, yes you are. You just added 20 ounces to an aluminum hood. Ever think about stamp collecting or sumpin'? :POriginally Posted by Treibenschnell
You did remove that unnecessary hardware from the under the dash handle to the hood latch to compensate didn't you? That probably saved you almost a pound. And then, when you drive down the street and the hood blows off . . .![]()
Oh, wait, I was going to be nice to you...![]()
Nope...there is a hole there, dear rx7, a hole.Originally Posted by rx7gslse

For those of you that don't know, my car is called the BUR. Now, it's called that for a reason... it is Butt Ugly. The hood and several other body panels are so pock marked with hail damage it's not even funny. The PO's attempts at color sanding with 80 grit ruined the paint down the whole driver's side. The doors on either side don't match the rest of the body color (even with the bad sanding!) I don't mind doing what I'm doing to my car... stuff I wouldn't do to my VW or, say, if I had a very nice Miata. I've mentioned it before, if ever I get a nice Miata, my nice, dream car, I'll probably go the direction of the wine and cheese crowd and buy it the nice Moss accessories... but until then, this BUR is my learning ground for stuff I've always wanted to do.![]()
I still need to do mine. The only difference is that I need 4![]()

It was alot easier than I originally thought it would be. All the underhood pieces are gone too...Originally Posted by Adam Payrot

I was pondering that this weekend when someone at our tech day mentioned that there was really nothing to gain from doing so. But that's not to say it hasn't crossed my mind...Originally Posted by altiain
