Thread: Full coverage on 10+ year old car

Default Full coverage on 10+ year old car

I just paid for a year of full coverage for the Element and the Miata last week (Esurance...cheap), but my wife gets a call today that they cannot give me full coverage on the Miata since it's over 10 years old. You think they would have figured that out with the quote but oh well...

We've called around and looks like it's that way with everyone...Geico, State Farm both say the same thing, and the State Farm guy says that almost all Texas companies are this way.

Anyone on here have full coverage on their NA? Know of a company that will offer it for a decent price?

Esurance and Geico are close to the same, pretty cheap, and i'd like to stay around this cheap...if it's too much more it's not worth it.

    Thanks in advance.

I only have liability and uninsured driver on my 1993. My GF has full coverage on her 1995 Honda through Amica (sp?).

We have full coverage on the '95 Miata, '97 pickup and '07 Civic. They also have our home-owners...that may make a difference.

    It's all thru Germania.

    +1 on USAA

Full coverage on a 91 plus some aftermarket parts coverage (probably need to raise it a bit).

My 99 is insured with Progressive. When I insured it I also got full insurance quotes for the 90 and 91. rates seemed to be competitive.

I have full coverage on the '99 through Farmers. Not sure what your definition of cheap is, but I'm not squirming at the rate I pay.

State Farm will cover my 1994, but I have been with them since 1985. You might want to check into getting an umbrella policy.

I called USAA and you have to be Military, or family of Military.

Most of the others, the full coverage ended at '95 for new policy holders and were doo dang expensive anyway.

Only one I found that could cover a '94 was AAA, but they were way too espensive unless I signed up for renters insurance, but the house is already covered, it would be redudant and about 3X what I paid with Esurance or Geico.

Esurance cut me a deal I couldn't refuse for comprehensive, so I signed a 6 month policy, i'll keep looking in the mean time. Seriousely these guys are CHEAP!

Thanks for the ideas though guys!
