Thread: Where's a good place to buy CDs?

Default Where's a good place to buy CDs?

With the demise of CD World a while back, is Bill's the only record store left in Dallas? iTunes just doesn't do it for me all the time, and the Big Box stores are only decent if you're looking for the latest and greatest or the "Super Hits"...

Right now, I'm listening to an early Dave Brubeck CD that I bought NIB at Half Price Books for only $3.00. A little time searching can sometimes find some real treasures.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Best Buy is OK much of the time, but sometimes you have no choice but to go to online vendors for the CD you are looking for.

CD Warehouse in Plano, right by Chipotle, in front of Collin Creek is still alive. I used to buy stuff there all the time. I just bought my mommy a cd from there.

I never was a big fan of CD Source but I'll have to give it another shot... CD World was greatness.

I used to go to Good Records when they were at their old location. They always had a good selection of non-mainstream stuff.

These days I just wait until I'm making another trip to Austin so I can shop at Waterloo.
Oh, well I've got two sevens, and two sevens beats a frush.

I've always been amazed at the vinyl to be found at the big Half Price Books near Keller's. Used to flip through their selection once a week just to see how the turnover was and ran across some real interesting goodies...first-presses, Russian, British, Mexican imports, & generally nifty stuff.
Fleabay and ab-cd are both good online sources for cds of both mainstream and off-the-beaten-path variations. cdnow.com used to be greatness but got absorbed by Amazon a number of years ago sadly.
