Thread: They Stole Spongebob!

    Default They Stole Spongebob!

This is special... I'm sure I don't get a rate decrease because of this crap!

DISH Network sincerely regrets that all MTV, BET, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and VH1 programming is currently unavailable. Viacom owned CBS stations are also unavailable at this time.

These channels and CBS stations, owned by Viacom, have proposed excessive rate increases which we feel are unreasonable. Viacom is demanding rate increases nearly 4 times the rate of inflation for various cable channels, amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars in fees that would increase the cost of our services to you.

My kid loves Nickelodeon! Plus loosing MTV how in the heck am I going to keep my Crib up to snuff!

Seriously.. We signed a contract for those channels if we pay $xx per month, do we still have to pay?

I kept my note short :

    Sir:

What kind of a reduction in rates should we see now that you are no longer providing us with the channels we signed up for??? Even if this is a temporary situation we should be eligible for a reduction in rates.

    I anxiously await your reply.

    Respectfully,
    Mick Harrison

and all of this is over 6 CENTS a month... I'm sure they're just going to bury the fee somewhere... Besides.. they give you a Dollar back, and Save $5-6. The $4 more amonth in profit for the cable company :)

cable bills are starting to look an awful lot like home phone bills.

I now pay MORE in taxes on my phone line than I do for teh line itself..

Ahhh... I love my old-fashioned cable system. It seems like I can find Spongebob on at least one channel (and sometimes more than one) at any hour of the day or night.

They did keep me at the same rate from 96 until 2003 as promised. I switched to direct TV when we moved in NOvember just because they had a better deal that week and I couldn't get a Dish installer out. Anybody need a DISH 501 PVR reciever? 30 gig I think.
