OMG! Tom, Donato, and I had some of the most fun racing I've ever had all through thru 1999 and 2000 seasons, with me in Speedie and Tom and Donata in their ITA RX7's. Tom was an excellent drive and has been racing EP and GT3 for the last five years in that car. Can't imagine him losing control like that, or dying from a crash, after crossing the gravel trap(slows cars a lot!) and into a tire barrier. I saw an Indy car in the same place several years. It was horendous, and the driver walked away. Tom will be missed.

Tom was a Good man. I was lucky to know him for about 29 years. I met him at Texas A&M while we were in the Sports Car Club there. I always remember him full of energy and the love of competition. At the time I think he had a real slick '66 Nova in gold paint. He would autocross it and he was not slow in it either. It was setup more for drag racing but he had a great time in the car.
Last year the TAMSCC had a 40th anniversary reunion at TWS. It was a great gathering of former members and successful racers. Tom was the fastest driver there. And the best part he still had the energy, smile, and drive to win.
