    2) What and when is the T&T? Is it just paid runs to test and tune on the TMS surface?

    TIA,

    Alan,
Regular Registration Check-in & Tech inspection is Friday evening 5pm to 9pm at the event site, in the Paddock area. The welcome party will be there also.

Late registration & Tech will be Saturday morning from 7am to 8am.

Impound will be in your assigned Grid position after you make your runs during the event on Saturday & Sunday.

The Test-N Tune is Friday on the same area as the weekend's course is & is from Noon to 3pm. You must first have Tech Inspection in the Paddock area across from the Bus Lot, before you can run the Test-N-Tune. Only 1 Tech Inspection is required for the whole weekend. If you get Teched for the Test-N-Tune, you're good for the whole weekend.

Basically the Test-N-Tune is to let you adjust your car a bit (tire preasures & so forth) & let you get used to the characteristics of the Bus Lot. .....or to just have some fun on a Friday afternoon!

Let me know if you have any more questions!

    The short answer is, no.

There are decals (which will be available at Tech) required for this event since it is sponsored partly by TireRack. Plus, there are a few other decals required since this event is part of the Nationally recognized SCCA Divisional Series.

The Texas Region annual tech doesn't require any of the Divisional decals & thus isn't honored for this event.

    One other note;
Class letters & Numbers will not be provided in Tech Inspection like our regular regional events (i.e. the white number panels with the blue writing that Bob Neff makes). Class Lettes & Numbers are the responsability of the competitor & need to meet the SCCA rules of size & contrast. But the annual tech SHOULD make the process smoother.....meaning here's your stickers.....put em on and come back and we'll give you a sticker....

We did it that way and had the policy of if your car breaks then you get your annual tech revoked. Did it at Divs, regionals and the tour. :)

Annual tech is supposed to be honored at national events even (as a pilot region in the program early on that was one of the deals with it). I argued in Arkansas my first year there about it and showed the rule to them and they shrugged. LOL

    Ah well. :)

    REAL QUESTION:
How early can I get teched on Friday? I'll be in town Thursday night and wanna get a move on with my car setup on Friday AM so I can run the T&T and then go take a shower :)

P.S. - for #s......is someone needs some vinyl cut #s quick let me know. I can have Richard Tomlin cut some up and you can pay for them Friday. Black or white color only...8-10" tall #s and 4-5" class letters.

Call him if needed 832-455 four five 59

But there are guys in DFW who do it too

Point being....support your autocross buddies who do vinyl.....not the big name sign shops :)

Don't you wear a black helmet? You'll be looking for a cold show then

Hal I don't care about the anual tech thing.....but honoring it will make life easier on the tech workers....less cars to do a tech inspection on. :)

I didn't get my car registered for anual tech this year LOL so I gotta go through anyway :) Just trying to make ur life easier

My understanding was that annual tech would be recognized, but there is still the decal issue. I don't really know but I won't be there until after 5 Friday.

The helmet crack was about the guy wanting to buy a black helmet. I have a black helmet I used for less than one season. I guess in a ragtop, it makes more of a difference.

    See you Friday evening.

I bought the flat black helmet anyway. So when you hear me cursing about the heat feel free to comment.

Unfortunately it will not be here until next week.

I stand corrected about the annual Tech question. But, you WILL have to have the additional decals & you have to check-in with the Tech Inspector to obtain the correct "Tech sticker" for the event.

Okay... I found a co-drive for this event. Now we'll see if Brad will let me register, since online registration closed yesterday.
