I was hoping that first-day results would be up by now, but in STS, miata_racer is in first in a lesser-prepped car, so good driving David! Nealb and his co-driver Bob are in second and third (not sure which order). I am in fourth with Miatamoto just 10/1000 behind me! Only 1.3 seconds separate spots 1-5. It will be hard to catch miata_racer tomorrow, but we sure will try.
Congrats to miata_racer for taking first in STS! Miatamoto took third and I took fifth. Sigh. NealB and his co-driver Bob took second and fourth, but I do not remember which took which.
We had a Texas Region trophy sweep in Tire Class.
Congrats to all. It was a very fun (and very hot) 2 days!

How did Altiain do with torque?
It looks like he came in 4th: https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/file...v2_fin.htm#stu
I'm trying to figure out, in STU... did the winner find a shortcut and not tell anyone else?
Bob - 2nd Neal - 4th
I had a blast running.
Just watched the vids and see where I can improve if I ever get the chance to run after those f-king east coast CRXs :)
But really.....awesome time this weekend...the miata will be the car to have when we are all done developing.
If I get the ARC intake and it works I'll let ya'll know :)

I just saw them too...$HIT!!!
If I had beet clean on run 4 today (slowing down to the 58.319 to do it even) the barbie-mobile would have had top pax
SO...if THAT isn't motivation enough for us all to run STS miatas I dunno what is :)
NOW I"m stoked...NOW I AM going to Nationals in 2010 :) We need a team of Megasquirt tards to get together and do a group tune now :)
Maybe 3-5 of us at a dyno day...just split the shop rental for the whole day :)
Any takers? If so...I'll use my hardtop $$$ to go that route...I can also bring my Sunoco GT100 (the legal unleaded 100 octane) for us to dyno with too :) yummy...

I had a lot of fun! I was in 2nd at the end of yesterday, but slipped back a couple of spots to 4th today. ken o and I were fighting oversteer all day, which left us off the pace compared to the boost buggies. I did have the top 2WD finish, though.
STU was also a class of attrition this weekend - Magyar's car only made 2 runs on Saturday before he parked it. Lots of oil smoke out of the exhaust. Something let go in the suspension on Pound's car on his last run today.
The M3 was a fun car to drive. It's like the polar opposite of an RX-8: it's heavy, it has a lot of torque, and the brakes aren't quite my style. They worked just fine, but they either felt like they were not enough or on the ABS, with no in-between. The RX-8 brakes are a whole lot more communicative, and easier to drive right to the edge of ABS engagement.
I was also very impressed with the Kumho XS. Street tires have really come a long way in the last couple of years.
Big thanks again to ken o for the co-drive - I really enjoyed it!
