No, really.
Okay, call me a geek. I was nine years old when Tron came out, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever, especially the lightcycles.
Anyway, apparently Disney is doing a sequel. Someone snapped some footage of a trailer this week. Check it out now before Disney makes them take it down!

I finally watched TRON for my first time about a year ago. I gave it a 5 out of 10 stars on the IMDB. I guess if I had watched it when I was younger, then I would have liked it more.

There are three sci-fi movies that come to mind as being way, way, way ahead of it's time in technological achievement. I won't say how old I am but I saw two of the three in theaters.
2001 A Space Odyssey 1969
Star Wars 1977
Tron 1982
Yeah... we look back at Tron today and think the graphics are cheesy, but at the time they really were state of the art and no one had ever really tried to mix computer graphics and live action.
What gets me is that we'll probably think the same thing about Lord of the Rings and others in 20 years. I wonder what movies will look like then...![]()

I was always a much bigger fan of The Last Starfighter. It may not have been the first to mix computer graphics and live action, but IMHO, it was the first one to do it really well.
Forbidden Planet (1956) tops my list... if you ever get a chance to see this one, it's amazing what they did for special effects.

Holy CRAP that looks bad-ASS!
Saw the first one in the theater when it came out (3rd grade)... my friends and I had the toys (the ripcord light-cycles were the best)... I can still watch that thing over and over again (and appreciate the cheesiness along with the super-cool graphics and stuff).
