Not a stupid question. It's good to know when to show up. I am not sure about BMW I am not going to this event but I think 8:00-8:30 would be fine.
Thanks sammm. 9AM for the Driver's Meeting, I'd suppose 30-60 min early to walk the course?

Get there about 60 - 90 minutes. You will need to unload your car, check in, walk the course, BS, etc.
Wow, great event! The breeze made the weather very tolerable, it was a fun course, and I was home by 3.
CobaltFire, how did you do?
Very fun event. The weather was pretty nice and the course was a lot of fun. The visual trickery was throwing a good number of people and the course flowed very well.
jrj512's STS car is just simply dialed in. We did some testing in the NC in the afternoon but were fighting oversteer and wheel spin under power due to the open diff.
Good to see everybody out there!

Good course! Simple but challenging.
What's left of a '96 Miata with stock clutch.
My car exceeds my driving ability. That's the only possible explanation.
jrj512: I did fine for my first time, I suppose. My best time was a 69.49 (third run). My second best was a 69.95 (eighth run).
I tried to run the back chicanes in third twice, but that ended with me trying to carry way too much speed for my skill and/or tires. I nearly swapped ends at ~60MPH the second time I attempted it. If I could get the line right and get a little more tire that section would have been a great third gear run.
I ended up getting my fastest times running the entire course in second, and even then it was really difficult to get the back of the car to hook up under anything greater than 75% throttle. Not sure if I was still laterally loading the tires a bit, or if they just didn't have the grip. It was probably a combination of the two, to be honest.
All in all I had a blast. I need to get some more seat time in to smooth out my driving by a lot. I've done a little track work, but this is completely different, and I'm in a new (to me), unsorted car as well. I didn't expect to set any record times!
After driving today I have decided that my priorities for the car are changing a bit. ECU and Intake are still first, but wheels and tires are coming immediately after. Suspension will be next, sway bars then full coilovers I'm thinking.
Oh, and a freaking SEAT! That MSM seat is murder in the corners... I swear someone applied Vaseline to it!
I wont be heading out tomorrow, have some stuff to take care of. I'll be out the next weekend this rolls around though!
I also wanted to throw a HUGE "Thank You" out to those people who helped me today. I'm sorry I didn't catch/remember all your names, it is a weakness I have. However, the gentleman that pointed out the screw in my tire, the other gentleman that let me borrow his jack, and the gentleman who helped plug my the tire all deserve thanks. I couldn't have even run today without that assistance. To all the all the other people who helped me out today, with procedures, walking the course, driving tips, and having a good time, thank you as well!

Great day! Great course! And exactly the right number of participants so we can all have fun and make it home for late lunch...
Many thanks to Miatamoto who took me for a thrilling ride in his baby. After this ride I improved my time by 1.5 sec.
JRJ512, you were caught in my video sliding Miatamoto's baby.
