    Default Greetings from Weatherford Texas

Hello everyone I am Billy, I just bought my first Mazda, a Miata.
Its a silver with gold racing stripes and candy apple red flames, 1999 model....I believe I got a great deal on it.
    I love it so far!!!!!

    So what goes on here?

I can see right now from reading some of the posts....I have finally found the right group of Miata owners. I have looked at a few stes but the others seemed either stuck up or just,...well I wont go there.

Anyhow My new baby is a 99 model but has 38K original miles on it, Leather, power everything, elisi racing steering wheel,an after market air filter system...it was in a front end collision so it has no airbags.
I paid $6,900. cash for it.

I have noticed the headlights are off to the side sorta and I want to get a kill switch for it asap because I am afraid to take it anywhere with a rag top. oh it came with the boot to cover the top too and glass rear window with defroster and what looks to be a factory Bose stereo system and Miata floor mats.

So did I get a good deal?

Whether you got a good deal is usually a very personal thing... It is based on how long you plan to keep the car, whether you like the car, etc.

OTOH, if your car came with a salvage title (which I'm guessing it did due to the absence of airbags), you may have paid too much.

It wasn't a slavage title, but it had something to the effect that it had been wrecked on it.
Of coarse that does not matter to me, I will sink un- Godly amounts of money into it anyway to make into what I want, I am already looking at a stroker engine.
The guy who had it before me was a soldier at Ft Hood he also is a paint and body man for the military so he did a pretty decent job on fixing the wrecked parts.
I plan to post pics tomorrow if you guys might wanna look at it.

Thanks for the warm welcome, thanks for the invite Rx7glse!!!!
I am looking very much forward to getting to know everyone and meeting you guys soon.

So tell me now am I an outcast since my car was wrecked?...lol
I am used to owning big block 400ci and 455ci american engines, so this is all new tto me but the car is so light and little its a blast to drive and I'm sure it wont take much to get it to the speed I like.

I host Karaoke for my weekday job and also am a lead vocalist in a rock cover band ("Spanking Sarah") I hope you guys cxan come out and participate in Karaoke sometime and maybe come see the band or maybe we can play for a rally or something.
I have something in the works for mid to early spring, to benefit local music its a festival two day event in Glenrose, there will be camping and great live music from several bands,...it wouldnt take much to add the Miata group to the happenings out there.
I will keep ya'll posted if this is of intrest.
    Thanks again,
    Billy Blaze

Sounds like a great car, then. The "wrecked" stigma doesn't really matter unless you want to sell a car.

We've got a few other folks around with Miatas that have suffered involuntary reshapings. It's all good.

    Involuntary mishapings????...LOL....that's a good one.

I noticed you guys do tech things like the flush day.

    So how does that work?
Whoever wants to get it done comes out with the replacement fluid?
Is there a cost, maybe discounted? I am curious about this as I am sure I will need some work done. I would most certainly help in any way I could with these type things. If I am not working.

No cost involved - these tech days are a hands on affair where you get to work on your own car, or learn how to work on your own car with the help of others if you're not already comfortable/familiar with working on cars. The great thing is, if you run into a problem or need help, there are a dozen guys around that can probably help you. It's a great way to learn more about your car and save some money by not having to pay a mechanic to do everything for you.

Just don't let 3Bean help you with any electrical problems. :P
