I'm amazed that they picked the CTS-V over the ZR1.

No love for the Camaro or the 135i, eh? The Camaro doesn't surprise me, but the 135i disappoints me. It could have been such a great car, but it seems like a 7/10ths boulevard cruiser.
Not bad. The RX-8 R3 finished 3rd in last year's comparo, and the Miata finished 3rd this year. We all know that Mazda makes some of the best driver's cars out there.
Now if they'd just make a hardtop, 2-door, rear-wheel drive sports car that split the difference between the two and came with a 2.3L MZR out of the MS3 that breathed a bit better at high rpm (or a 16X), they'd have a runaway hit on their hands. oh, and make it look like this:
They'd also have my deposit - I'll take one in white with three pedals and a cloth interior, thank you. Sigh...![]()

I'm surprised they picked such a random mix of cars.
VW Bug in running shoes
M Porcupine sedan
M Porcupine coupe
Crusty old e46 beater
Battery Powered appliance car
I agree, and it is one of the reasons why I do not generally like Motortrend or the other US magazines, With the exception of GRM.
They are looking for America's best drivers car but there is no Lotus, no GT3, no Ferrari, no Evo, no GTR, no M3 etc...
Supposedly price was not a factor, so there should have been either more cars or at least a more varied range of cars.
I stopped reading Motor Trend a loooong time ago. Among, C/D, R/T, Automobile, GRM there's a lot of good journalism but MT seems to be a collection of press releases except it's dumbed down from there.
