good luck. Its an employeers market out there for sure.
Round 3 of layoffs at my office today. Here's hoping the axe doesn't swing my way.
Stupid economy.

The economy is beginning to recover albeit a very weak recovery at the expense of a high unemployment rate. Hang in there.
Well... it seems I've escaped again. That's the good news. bad news is another State of the Business meeting scheduled for beginning of December, and 2010 isn't shaping up to be a fun year for us either.![]()

How long have you been with them (IIRC about 2 years)? Are they laying off the new guys or the old guys? Hopefully you have been there long enough to show your worth, but not too long that you are at the top of your pay scale. I'm glade you did not get the axe today.
Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...
Altiain, did your old boss that I know get laid off?
1990 White NA - SOLD
1994 Black NA - SOLD
2006 Red NC - GT with limited slip, HIDs, all OEM.
Ataim - I've been with the company for over four years now (time flies, eh?). The layoff was a mix of old and new. Engineering lost four people this round, two of whom had been with the company for over twenty years.
motorollow - John actually managed a promotion when his division was shut down earlier this year (although he might not call it that). He is now "Chairman of the Global Tier IV Integration Council", which means he will be overseeing all of our division's conversion to Tier IV industrial engines to meet new US/EU regulations going into effect Jan 1, 2010.

i get fired ever other week even when the economy is that good and some how find myself going back the next day. my boss loves me so much he feels the need to fire when ever he can.
Iain,
You do not want to join the ranks of the unemployed!!!I have completed all her honey do lists and I have completed all my lists. Now I just watch the walls and have notice lately they are closing in on me. Oh well. I am still looking. I am part of that true 17% unemployment minus the new 9.8%. I have looked off and on and keep getting the 'your salary requirements are too high, we can hire people at half your requested salary'. I have dropped my salary request by 40%!!!! Oh well, a job will come one day, once our new government leaders decide to increase the opportunity for business owners/ leaders....
Glad you did not lose your job,
Alan
Glad to hear that it didn't hit you Iain and sorry that it has hit some of the rest of us. My Father has been out of work since December 23rd and has had 1 interview in that time. He has been going to every job fair, networking, and sending out resumes to whomever he can find, but still hears very little back.
