Thread: Got swine flu?

    Default Got swine flu?

Now that swine flu has been declared an official national emergency, I was wondering how close to home it may have affected anyone here.

A couple of weeks ago my wanted to go to a party at the home of a coworker. I didn't want to go, as the last time we went it felt more like a family reunion, (which is fine if you're family, otherwise it pretty much sucks).

A few days later and 3 of the kids there have been diagnosed with the swine flu, one of them hospitalized. Kinda glad I missed that little soiree.

several people at work have had kids come down with it. One stupid co-worker brought their sick grand child to work for 2 days. I wanted to smack her.

A handful of people at the office have come down with "confirmed cases" of Swine flu, and they make it sound like an AIDS outbreak - even though they've all survived and been back to work in a few days. I don't buy into the National Epidemic BS. The regular people flu can put you down as easy as the swine flu if you're already dealing with some other medical condition. So I give this whole thing a big, fat "meh."

Now watch me catch it and get violently ill just for saying that...

    OK here so far,,,,

A couple of times in years past I've had the flu that was so bad that for 3 or 4 days I didn't think I'd ever recover, and I was a lot younger then.

I don't ever want to do that again. I get the flu shots. It helps that they are free at work.

Took the kid to a Pumpkin patch yesterday... They had a petting zoo with 4 week old pigs. They tried to get me to hold one but I told them where they could stick them swine flu varmints.

BB, nope, neither of those times did I get a flu shot before. Have not had the flu shot every year since, but have not had that nasty flu either. To each his own. Good luck, the flu can be nasty, nasty.

Military forces us to get it so we don't have much of an option in the matter.

No one in my family has had yet (knock on wood) but at least one guy at work, his daughter has caught it, but they caught it early so they don't think it'll be hard to knock out.

One of the ladies that works with my mom both of her grandsons have it. Keep in mind this is in the DFW area.
