Run into something.
Since I replaced the Gauge hood on the POSIV I was amazed how quiet the car got!
But now I have a strange rattle that I can't figure out. It appears to be coming from the passenger side airbag on my '94. It almost sounds like loose change under the airbag.
As some of you may recall when I rescued the POSIV it was in a sad state the interior was nasty. I'm wondering if something still remaining in the dash after cleaning it out.
So I would like to pull the airbag and see what if something is loose or crud is causing the rattle. So how do you pull the passenger airbag??
Remove screws holding glove box in at hinge.
With that out of the way you can now look up and see (4) 14mm? bolts holding the bag module in. Remove them, disconnect airbag. Might want to disconnect battery and step on the brake before starting this job to make sure there is no current going to the airbag system.
Good luck. Widow has a rattle in that area. I've removed the dash and still never found the source.![]()
