New to the site, new to miatas!
Hello, my name is Merlon (pronounced Merlin, and yes that is my birth name!) and I am a 19 year old College Student at Northlake College in Irving! I just bought myself my Miata for my birthday, and I thought it would be a wonderful idea to join a Miata club! I'm hoping to be more than just a poster on the site, and meet up and do Miata Club things with everyone, no matter just how scary that may be...
I bought a 2001 Miata LS and I absolutely love it. I had to learn how to drive a Standard Transmission but after about 2 days of trying not to drive into a Police Officer I finally got it down. It's been about a month since then and I have loved this car!
I am really hoping to get into the Miata scene and just have fun! I hope to hear from people and I am gonna try to hit some of the meet ups!!

You should come on out to one of the weekly get-togethers. We haven't had one in your area in a few months, but you're welcome to propose a location if you care to play "host".Kincaid's in Southlake had a pretty decent turnout not too long ago, for example.

Light metalic blue (Not sure the official name of the color) 2001 LS with 17,000 miles! I will have some pictures up today or tomorrow! It's gorgeous.
Then it's probably Crystal Blue Metallic (a light blue, almost aqua). I'm partial to the darker blues, but it's still a very nice color!Originally Posted by Newbie Miata
Oh, and welcome! Most of the time the Wednesday night meets are at Keller's at Abrams and NW Highway, or Fillmore's Pub or Hooter's in Plano.
That's a bit of a drive for you, so as juxt3r said, if you'd like to propose a location closer to you, post it up in the Impromptu Events and you'll likely get at least a few to show up.
