Thread: Tire Diameter Question

    Default Tire Diameter Question

Ok, I'm currently running 205/50-15's, with an overall diameter of 23.1".

Can the NB run taller tires? I'm not interested in slamming it, and coilovers are in the plans. By taller, I mean 25" diameter, using 225/50-16's.

I know these are a common size for the NC, but I have not seen them installed on an NB (probably with good reason).

Feel free to throw things at me, but I wanted to ask.

16's came on my NB. I tried 225, but they rubbed on the inside at full lock and may have led to the early demise of my front hub bearings I have 215? 50's now that rub on big bumps. They were very cheap and I try to avoid bottoming out the suspension. YMMV

One of the reasons I am asking is because I would like a bit more width, and the SSR Comp's are on clearance on Tire Rack in a 16x7 +33. On top of that, it seems to be a widely used tire size with good selection at good prices.

Oh, and it would immensely help my cars short gearing.
