Default EGR incomplete / not ready

I cleaned my EGR and replaced my cat about 40 trips and 1,800 miles ago. Checking codes, it shows the EGR as incomplete. Any suggestions on how to get the code to show complete?

Wow...it shouldn't take near that long. Disco the battery, step on the brake pedal for 10 seconds, reconnect and start over.

I didn't know about the brake pedal- 10 seconds. Thanks. I'll disconnect the battery and start from scratch.

That just drains any residual power in the car.

find torque specs for intake manifold and support bracket as well as torque sequence. remove the top half, check all passages and clean with 'intake manifold and throttle body cleaner', you will need to do this every 20-50k miles. if you'd likehelp i can help you, and you should be able to reuse the gasket.

***do not use carb cleaner it has other chemicals that can remove the protective finish inside the intake manifold and the car will run more rough.

imsuchanoob - The intake was cleaned a while ago to clear a P0402 code. That code went away, and the P0420 showed up. Replaced the cat, and neither code is present, but I'm still getting the not ready - EGR incomplete when I scan for codes/readiness.

It just passed smog with that one incomplete, so there is no rush.
    Thanks for the help.
