I was about to make a comment outlining why I like the original "Lotus" look more. I still do, so I guess I just made that comment. I was gonna say that putting a bunch of carbon bodywork on a simple cheap sportscar is like buying a mink coat for your white-trash hooker. It just ruins the coat.

Then I read the article. It is a legitimate race car. Built to fit into a rulebook and win races. I is supposed to be expensive. It is supposed to look like a penis from the future. Evidence (from Jeff's link):

We're talking about the Donkervoort D8 GT, undoubtedly one of the most futuristically phallic retro road rockets on the street or track today.
Gentlemen, fear the men of the future.
    1994 R-package - gone, but not forgotten.
1966 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. Restification in progress. or should I say De-RUSTification in progress?
    1984 Honda VF1100S. V4 Fury!

Where do you find coverage to watch stuff like this race? That car is incredible. Oh, and jrj's post scares the bejesus outta me.

    Regards.

That's Ace and Gary, the Ambiguously Gay Duo. It was a Robert Smigel short that used to run on SNL all of the time. Damn funny too.
