What is required to legally own a pistol in TX? I'm interested, but I have no idea what I would have to do to get it all sorted.
We could do the deal at work! Just kidding...
I have a XD9 for sale or trade. I'm looking for a a Glock 26 or will sell this pistol for 450 dollars firm. I have the original box mag holder (modified to slip on and off a belt without removing the belt), original speed loader, Blackhawk holster, Don Hume concealment holster, and six (6) magazines.
The pistol also has Meprolight Night sights installed orange rear dots green front.
Any questions just ask. Willing to do a straight trade for a G26 with some extra magazines or maybe just with night sights.
Do not want to ship though FFL so local sales face to face only within the DFW area.

Private owner to private owner there is no paperwork. Just buy it.
If you want to legally carry it then you need to get your Concealed Carry License. That involves a class and license fees, background check... etc..
Nothing special in a Face to Face deal like this all that needs to trade hands is cash, or check. When doing a personal sale there is no background check I just need to reasonably believe that you aren't a felon or anything. I would just do a bill of sale for my own records in case the pistol winds up stolen or something and they were able to trace last ownership back to me via Form 4473s at the gun store.
Right now I've got one local sale lined up with another person from work they are discussing it with their spouse if it falls though you're next in line if you are still interested.
As stated above you need to get a course if you want to conceal carry. FYI Military in Texas gets the permit for Free but you still have to pay for the course.I've had my permit since I turned 21. Texas also allows service members who are residents and under 21 but over 18 to get CHLs. But that dosen't apply to you just a useful tidbit o info for anyone at work wanting to get one.
