Default Neg. Battery cable: Merv or TDR?

My friend called me from basic training the other day and asked me to get him a negative battery cable for his 92'. He didn't have time to explain why he needed one, but I told him I'd get one.

I looked at mine and it looks easy enough to replace. Are you guys aware of any issues using a used one? Should I buy OEM new or just get a universal at the local parts store.

TDR or Merv, you got one available?

    Thanks!

There are two Miatas still in the barn and I'm sure they are both there. It's a long drive from Denton, though. If it were me, I think I would go with new.......
