Nope. Not a turbo car. I have an idea, but I'm not sure I can get the deal I want done yet.

I like all the rule kings in here. FYI HPDE 3-4 is a lot different then some of you think. Its basically a race with open passing in a variety of street cars. In NASA TT you would be on track with cars that eat most Miata's, even pro driven. Some of you NC guys should have tried HPDE 4 or aka racecraft. Swallow pride = have fune

Eh, I only have one NASA weekend under my belt (Saturday in DE 3/4 and Sunday in TT)... and HPDE 3/4 was easily 2-3 seconds slower than the TT session. Not open passing either in DE 3/4 (point by passing like normal DE).

If you want to compare DE 3/4 times to TT times, go here --> http://www.mylaps.com/results/showevent.jsp?id=510680

I passed 95% of the 3/4 guys in my 166hp Miata. I would've been in the top half (top 5 most sessions) of the TT group. And I was having lots of fun . Any more questions?

My point is that you can still have fun in hpde 3-4. Just because your a rockstar with no rollbar doesn't mean you can't enjoy NASA. I'm trying to make a case for the other drivers on the board who didn't come because they couldn't run TT without a rollbar. This is my 3rd year with NASA, see you guys at TWS.

Geezer, was it so slow and borring that your now getting a dedicated NASA TT car...lol If it weighs half of the NC, I'm guessing a Radical, Westfeild, DP car, or Nascar?

OK, but that discussion was weeks (months?) ago so your comment was sorta out of left field, not to mention insulting to some folks here that are very competent drivers. And it's not slow and boring at all - it's just silly to have one car for MC, one car for my local ChronoX time trial series, a third car for a NASA TT series and a fourth for Mazda Pro cup next year. Also, I don't think anyone here is "looking down" on the NASA Hpde 3/4. In fact, I think we all enjoyed the Cresson HPDE event quite a bit - I know I did. What gave you any other idea?

Geezer and Sixace calm down. Just stating points for future readers of the thread interested in signing up. My main sarcasm was directed at Miatamoto...

Serenity now. Your attempt to generate interest and entries kinda missed the mark, at least for me, but that's the interweb for you. Moto has a valid point, rules are rules and it would be a bummer to sign up, drive several hundred miles and not be allowed to run. MSRC was my first NASA event and I enjoyed it and will do it again. Had a grassroots feel to it. HPDE and trackdays are a blast and safety is up to the track, organization, and one's own comfort level to determine. It's all good.

What car/class will you be running at TWS?

You dont think I know who miatamoto is Trey...lol. I actually saw him drive at VIR in october of 08 at Redline. It doesn't mean that he wasn't being a whiney girl earlier in the thread. Too many threads get cluttered with this whiney bitch back and forth rules say this, xxx says this, blablabla. It's a big downer on the whole community. How many newbs to NASA read the thread and didn't participate because they "thought" you had to have a roll bar for anything other than a race class. How many freackin questions did we answer for you on m.net or mt.net? Then you went to MSR-H and realized everything me and spoolin2bars said was legit and they were easy to deal with. Then we got sixace and geezer jumpin in...lol

    Have fun guys...

yeah, it would suck, but he didn't have to make it sound like i or "we" are idiots. he was trying to make it sound like i didn't read the nasa rulebook. or we didn't know how to read. i read that mother fucker in 2005 before i ran my first nasa event in 2006. and he's trying to tell me how nasa work's? i was just stating what i know from my experience with nasa over the last 4 years. he was quoting a book and the national office, of course they're gonna say that's the rule, but that's not how it works down here. that's like me trying to tell geezer how things are run at h2r. i think he's been there 10x as much as i have, i wouldn't argue or make him out to be a dumbass. i don't know what you do for a living, but can you imagine me trying to tell you the rules at your work? and then making you out to be a dumbass when you tell me how things really run?
that's why i gave up and told him he was right and shouldn't go. don't want someone like that there anyway. but yeah, this was over month/s ago. jacob's been out of the loop for a litlle while. he runs modified class in a lightened na. he was at the first event @ msr-h. if you meet him, you'll know he's just trying to knock down the roadblocks that some people put up for themselves (and others). he's helped me alot with my car and the miata challenge and is a true miata lover. (tell him to show you his miata tatoo on his ass!) basically late post and worded wrong makes it sound different than what he meant.

on a lighter note, i can't wait for tws, i love that track!

I wonder how many “newbs” read this thread and say “fvck that, I don’t want to share the track with a bunch of idiots who think the safety and passing rules don’t apply to them”?

Just food for thought while you’re on the way to get your next track star tattoo.
