I can't help but imagine a pivot corner on the drift course where the try to hook a rod that spins them around.

I had one of those. Had about 5 lbs. of hot-glue holding it together from all the crashes.

Mine held up OK until I decided to replace the stock .049 engine with some hopped up thing (I think it was called a Black Widow?) that my hobby shop was selling. Crash and burn, total lose the first day out with the new engine.

I never got to fly mine. My Dad took it for a power dive into the tarmac and there was no hot glue back in the day

Seems like a horrible spot for a tow hook. One that's a lot of leverage you are exerting on the mounting point. Two if for some reason whatever you were using to tow decided to snap it's coming straight back towards that tow hook. If it has a shackle on the end that could cause some serious hurt.

look behind the bumper there is no core support or anything metal connecting the front together for a tow hook in the first place.
