    Not in the miata....

But i did do some donuts, and general skid practice in the Lancer in the parking lot at Royal and Abrams at about 7:30. Never had a car with ABS before..... in fact, never before realized the lancer had abs, and I've had it almost 3 years now.

The ABS did make straight line "Oh shit" stopping easier it seems, although it did scare me on the first donut-- i hit the brakes, and thought I'd fucked something up.

you need cold and wet / ice to do donuts??? you guys have no skill....

but it does remind me of flying in to NY after it snowed and 1/2 the parking lots you could see people had done snow donuts. was cool t see from the air.

yeah i see that too when I visit the 'rents in Indy this time of year. As for the ice/snow to do donuts that is not a necessity. It's just easier on the tires and drive train; especially for us normally aspirated folks. How soon we forget.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to warm up the Miata to bring it work last night... had to bring the van.

I might try to play a little a bit later though

side note: DFW drivers are idiots. I don't know how many people I saw in the 121 ditches...

It's not just DFW drivers. It's everywhere. Besides, most of the DFW drivers are transplants from other states.

Finaly managed a 4wd donut in the Jeep. that's not easy to do. It kept wanting to go straight dang it. 2wd was easy.

Just watched a car donut all the way over the center median retaining wall - on I-40 in Amarillo (16 degrees!).
Driver was dazed and confused but ok.

Took me 3 hours to get from Weatherford to Mineral Wells yesterday afternoon. Probably about 2 dozen cars between here and there in the median now.

About half way in between there was a tanker truck that couldn't make it up a hill was sitting sideway across both lanes of traffic. Took a few hours of other truckers and motorists help to get the truck straightend out and we got rolling.

People lose their minds in the snow

This is where the traffic snarl happened. You can't see it but farther up the hill is tanker truck stuck on the hill unable to move. There were no sand trucks out and about. I wound up having to follow those 18 wheelers infront of me the rest of the way into town because the Hi Performance summer tires I have on the Ion don't get crap for grip lol.

After I got though that Clusterf**k I was greated to clear skies sun and Mineral Wells covered in this

Just watched a guy slam into a parked car at starbucks this morning. parking lot was solid ice. he was going about 4 mph, and cut the wheel hard to the right to make a parking spot. wheels turned.... car didn't.... *THUMP.... SCRAPEEEEEEEEE*

Thank god i parked on the other side of the lot and walked over, lol

What are you trying to say ? I'm a transplant and I didn't end up in a ditch on my way home from work yesterday and I take 121

But I will agree people were driving like complete morons the same woman cut me off 4 times I think the only reason she saw me is cause I was in my Lifted Jeep . I'm also used to driving in the snow and Ice being from Maryland I was waiting to see a guy in a H2 on his roof he blew past me doing atleast 80 when I was going about 40-45 with everyone else

The worst are the ones who assume they're invincible because they have some safety feature like traction control or AWD. I saw at least one Subaru in the ditch

I took the family's 325i out yesterday for a little bit. Some nice parking lots and open roads around the house let me have some fun sliding the car a bit.

I would have used my car, but I discovered a screw in my right rear Kumho XS (I daily on them) as I was going to rotate them on Wed. Oh well I needed new tires anyway so I guess now I just have to buy the new set later today.

i drifted up the 30 to 45/75 ramp, there was no ice but they dumped enough sand at 70mph to insure people who think they where on ice.
