Default More snow in Wichita Falls than in Denver

Just drove through Wichita Falls and there is still a ton of snow on the ground. We left Silverthorne, CO this morning and the only bad roads were in Wichita Falls with some ice and snow patches on the road.

I ran the rest of my north of I20, west Texas route yesterday and was flabbergasted to see the amount of snow out there. Vernon got 9" and Iowa Park, which is 10 minutes from Wichita Falls, got 11". There were reports of over 200 cars abandoned off of 277/114. I saw snow in ditches that was well over 6 FEET high, which is likely from snow drifts.

I drove through Oklahoma City today and they got rocked, too. The interstates were clear, but all of my exit were inches of ice/slush.

    DFW saw nothing in comparison.

    Yep.

We just got back from visiting family there. It was an interesting drive out there to say the least. Glad we waited a day to let some of it melt but as of today many of the side roads are impassable.

My father-in-law pulled out 18 drivers on Christmas eve and Christmas with his tractor.

My parents left Childress on 12/25 at 10 am. They didn't get here until 8pm. It took them 10 hours to go 200 miles.

Now it's supposed to snow again, so they may have to stay here a few extra days. They were supposed to leave tomorrow, but those roads don't sound like fun after tonight.

We just drove from Pagosa Springs (south Colorado) to Denver on the 26th and then from Denver to Dallas on the 27th-28th. Although Denver wasn't receiving much snow, they definitely had more residual drifts than any place we saw along our trip through north Texas. But southern Colorado had more than either place and kept receiving it.

My Mom lives just outside of Henrietta. Its about 20 miles this side of Wichita Falls. they got 12 inches at their farm and snow drifts were over 4 ft high in the fields. The snow drift at the end of their drive was big enough that no one could get into out of the driveway.
