I know the feeling. I finished DFL at a ProSolo once.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Mike - there weren't any Miatas out there for you to beat up on. I'm pretty sure you were the fastest Yaris though!

Here's a clip of one of my runs. This was just after it had started to drizzle so the track was a tiny bit wet and the tires were cold. I nearly spun at like 20mph before I even crossed the start line!

Nice video Mark. I am looking forward to seeing David's fancy bumper cam video.

I am looking forward to the next one on the course. A few new things to try on the car to keep it more stable will certainly help. I am pretty impressed with my 1.14'9 because it was just my 3rd lap of the course.

After that I just could not keep from spinning so I will try the lower pressures recommended by David and Gerry for the next event, and if that does not sort it out I will soften rear dampening a click or two.

It was just good to get two laps in (with the much lower rear pressure) before I had to go that did not feature the rear end suddenly snapping loose.

Ok the next event is officially Feb 6th, and registration is now open! I will also have new improved t-shirts which are free if you register by Tuesday!

I also posted the bumper cam video on the site so check it out if you want a seizure!

Just signed up for the 6th. Need to get some seat time at Mineral Wells before the Tour.

Ok the morning is filled up but the afternoon still has a few spots left! Also after this weekend we will compile a new top ten list for the T1 course!

So I made it out to my first Texas Time Trials event on Saturday. Saturday morning we ran the PCA “P3” course.

I had a lot of fun, even though my best lap time was taken away because someone needs a new glasses prescription. Oh well, I learned a lesson - always, always have the camera running. I still managed FTD, and I think Miatamoto managed to take 2nd overall in my car as well.

Good times, good people, a really laid back event, and plenty of seat time (my car got over 40 miles of run time on it with two drivers). If you haven’t been to one of these events, I highly recommend checking one out.

What were your times? How did they compare to the times when PCA runs it?
    M3 is always the answer.

We were in the 1:10s on street tires in low 40 deg weather. There wasn't a lot of gravel out there so not too compromised on grip.

Iain was in the low 1:10s, I was in the high 1:10s. That puts us very near the top of the lap times for that course. 1:07 is the time for 1 PCA guy in a fully prepped race car with aero and Hoosier slicks.

I know it's the same shape but is the course exactly the same each time?

Yeah, there are permanent boxes painted on the surface for the gates, so the course should be identical every time.

I think the top lap times are posted on the TTT website. Like Thomas said, top time on PCA P3 is a full race 911 on slicks with aero at a 1:07.??. 2nd place on that layout is another Porsche at 1:09.90. I ran a 1:10.00 (whether David believes it or not ), but I think my fastest “official” lap was a 1:10.29.

The car just worked really well on Saturday. We tried a couple of different rear bars, which didn’t give us quite the expected results (the car was more of a handful with the softer rear bar). I was faster on the softer bar, but the difference was within driver noise (.3 seconds between my fastest laps with the different bars). Thomas was faster with the bigger rear bar, but we both felt the car was easier to drive with the bigger rear bar.

I was not able to make it but I have been to 3 events with TTT. They are as described, laid back, fun and plenty of seat time.

Why did they not run the new T1 course yesterday? I figured it would be run again for an official full day of times on that course.
