Thread: Harris Hill Road Test & Tune/Dyno Day 2/20

Awesome day and very nice track. Couple hour delay getting started due to fog, first few sessions wet and gradually drying out. Actually helped me to learn the course at slower speeds. Only one off for me, first session in the wet, but I was not alone by a long shot. When the track dried, the speed came and I had a blast. Ran CCW in second to last session flat out for 32 miles on the odo and it wore me out. I actually liked it better, but it has it's drawbacks. I thought it would be less bumpy, but it's actually worse. Still too fun.

Great crew, thanks Eric and Steven for the promised good times and delivering on it. The low turnout must be a bummer for you, but for us it's a plus! I had one session that seemd like I was all alone. I really like how you can see almost all of the track from the clubhouse, and the facility itself is the best I've been to (nice tv!).

Met some really nice drivers, cool and laid back event. Got my fill of runtime and even bailed on my last session to head out for the long drive home. Good times. I'll be back.

Also, the track seems bumpier after my ride alongs with Trey and Collin (I have stock springs and Koni's whereas they both have coilover setups). Does H2R have a resurfacing/planing plan in the future?

    Chris
No, I've run it CCW a few times.

H2R's been bumpy through T8 and T6 for a while now, but it seems fairly stable now. Not ideal, but I've learned to live w/ it in either direction. I don't represent the track, and can't speak for their future plans. I know they have a lot of future improvements on their wish list, but it takes money, and given how reasonable they are on their pricing, they won't happen overnight.

I had a the same brake problem bullshit...but finally figured it out. Swapping the master at the track didn't fix it, but changing the wheel bearing may have. It had no play on the car with the wheel off the ground, but made heinous noise on the way home. I noticed the rotor was hitting my fancy new Wilwood caliper and broke chunks of my new DTC-30s off and one pad is worn down roughly 70%, the other side is worn down 20%. I swapped bearings and all seems fine now...I guess another track event will tell me if I fixed it or not. I can tell you this much...I'm pretty much OVER brakes not working on this car. Putting the pedal on the fire-wall is getting seriously old.

The track was exciting, especially the 105mph+ bump-steer through the kink with the car getting airborne. That track was fun. I had a passenger half-way pass out in the car too...lol.

Ok, here's me doing it wrong. Please feel free to make funny comments about how much I stink. Came around pretty quick, considering I was going reallllly slow? Only off of the day, so I obviously should have been going faster....

For your enjoyment (btw, I blame Hustler, he distracted me, yeah, that's it...)

I don't think you stink. I think you have a heavy foot on a wet track. Hoosiers is strike 3, and you were out
