They'll probaby ship via SnailExpress.
Makes you wonder how in the world they will pull that off for $30.00, I have to imagine that sucker weighs a few pound!Originally Posted by sammm

No way you can ship it for $30, unless you getting only the diff w/o housing etc. The one I got w housing was over 40lbs.

So when you get the new torsen, what are you gonna do with your old open?
I say make a garage clock out of it!
Depending on how hard/easy the diff-ectomy is, I may keep the open one so I can swap it back out when I sell this Miata. Then again I may sell the open one ASAP to help pay for the Torsen. I guess I don't know! :P Why?Originally Posted by Kags1969
The 1.6 rear 6" ring and pinion is not supposed to like torque very much, so I am trying to accumulate parts for a 7" swap when the 1.6 craters. I am going to need to find the diff., housing, driveshaft and halfshafts. I understand the 1.8 open differentials are pretty plentiful in the junkjards.
I scored my Torsen carrier today! It's out of a 2000 model w/50K miles - for $425 delivered! Tech Day on the horizon! Anyone on the forum ever swapped differentials out?
I'd love to see this done...I'll help if you need it.
I've never doe it, but I'd be glad to help as well.
