Thread: Anybody know a Wesley Householter?

Default Anybody know a Wesley Householter?

So I have my Miata for sale here: http://www.dfwmiata.com/showthread.p...r-sale-blk-tan It's also up on craigslist and Autotrader. I admit the price is set on the higher end of the range, I'm willing to negotiate.

So this guy emails me from CL and asks.

Him: Would you sell the hard top by itself? i have as huge hole in my soft top and need to upgrade....

Me: No, I'm not parting out the car at all.

Him: thank you for your response.

and i have to say, you have a very beautiful car there, but you will not
    get what your asking for.*

*unless you come across someone who has no idea what they are buying,
hasn't looked at any other post on craigslist, or is looking for that
    exact model/ options.

hell. for that much you could easily buy a second gen. NB miata that is in
good running condition, under 100k WITH sport options.

if it wasn't FAILmatic, was slammed/ Sport suspension, maybe even a roll
    bar.
or had a turbo/supercharger. you might get what your asking.

try your luck on ebay mate.

    don't worry about responding.

    ************************************************** ******

Just wondering if any local Miata owners know him. I'm not offended, just rather shocked that he wasn't able to deal with me telling him no.

I don't know him, nor do I know you (other than by your G35) but I tend to agree with him.

You've had the car up for sale for a few months now and honestly it's in great shape (by the pictures), but it's also overpriced IMNSHO.

Not disagreeing at all either. I said my price is on the high end of the range. At a low price point, you'll have a lot of buyers and be able to sell your car quickly. At a high price point, the number of buyers will be lower. I believe my price is fair and negotiable for the car given the condition, hard top, freshly rebuilt AT, and leather interior. I'm in no rush to sell. I just have four cars and I needed to make room.

The unsolicited advice on the sale of my car along with a vindictive attitude just needed to be pointed out.

Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...

Alligator hide notwithstanding... Have I mentioned lately what the editorial position on the "price police" is around here? Everything is for sale... at a price. If the sale price is higher, that generally just means the seller isn't as ready to part with his goods. If it's the one you want, man up and pay the price or keep looking until you find another one...

    +1

And I think it's good that we have both negative and positive replies to classifieds ads; otherwise it would be easier to only post it on CL (the whole community thing IMHO).

The responses help the most vulnerable (the uninformed) buying segment and I think it adds real value to any forum.

Just like you they are asking for one thing but likely going to have to take something else.
