    It has to be those shoes. What are those - the equivalent of Pilotis for mountain biking? If I had some of those shoes, I could do all that. Maybe a bike that comes apart would help.

    ya, but riding 6' (poorly) on a railing over a cliff isn't nearly as gnar as flipping off a tree

    All the times he was up in the rocks I kept expecting him to hop/ride down the rocks. He just did one jump then quit

    What kind of rear hub do those bikes use? Sometimes it seems to be a freewheel hub and at other times the riders seem to be pedaling backwards as if it is a fixed hub.

    Freewheel only works when rolling forward... if they roll backwards, they have to turn the pedals backwards, or they'd stop.
