Welcome aboard Kate... I'm sure those that will be at the SCCA event will chime in shortly. They usually meet for breakfast somewhere near the event site...
Hi everyone,
I am new to the Waco area (moved here Tuesday from Minneapolis) and I just purchased a 2002 class red Miata in the Dallas area. Looking to meet some other people outside of work. I plan to autox... is there anyone here going to the event in Dallas this Sunday? Do you know if they set up the course / practice on Saturday? I'd like to stop by and meet some folks before I commit to driving back up to Dallas on Sunday.
I am super excited about picking up my new car... Texas is beautiful so far!
Thanks guys,
Kate

Kate, check out www.dfwautocross.com for all of the Dallas/Fort Worth AX action.
Also check out the Texas A&M Sports Car Club, as they have some great events not too far from you, too. There is also a Baylor car club there in Waco, but they do not do much in the way of autocrossing. You do not need to be a student to join the TXAMSCC events. I do not know the limits for the Baylor club.
Welcome to the board.
Welcome.
There will not be any practice on Saturday for the event on Sunday. And, the course will not be set up until Sunday morning.
Have you autocrossed before?
I will be there. This year I will be using number 61, rather than 91, running in E stock.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Welcome aboard! If you think it's gorgeous now, just wait till summer!
Don't forget to check out Miatas @ Hallett in September. It's seriously fun, and all the cool kids do it every year...

I picked up the new car today and plan to go to the SCCA event at DFW on Sunday. I couldn't find a place in Waco that sells acceptable helmets though . The car is beautiful! Look for me... the confused looking girl with a red 2002.
Bring a painter's head sock, we have helmets to lend.

A painter's head sock?!?! Never heard of such a thing.
That is ridiculous looking... I wonder if painters really use them... At the risk of sounding stupid, in TX weather I think I'd rather just get paint on my head.
Welcome!

I survived autox and the loaner helmet. What a blast!
