Default Coolant leak 93LE. Shop suggestions.

A good size puddle has formed on my garage floor between the 2 front tires. Valvoline tech told me that the leak seems to be coming from a bolt near the water pump but he could not get to it to try to tighten.

I have an appointment next week at town north mazda, but i was wondering if anybody knows a reputable shop in Plano that would be able to take care of this. Thanks.

Call Gary at TrackDog Racing. He's in that area.

Sounds like you need a new water pump.

TrackDog is just a couple miles from TownNorth. They do nothing but Miatas and charge less than the dealership.

Sounds like a bad pump. May as well do the timing belt while you are in there. It's not much more labor then just doing the water pump.

i agree with this. plus if coolant is getting on the belt, it can cause premature wear on the belt.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned TDR, but you might want to try them. Get your timing belt done, too.

Im' not sure about TDR. I think I would rather go to TDR.

Don't go to TDR. You will end up leaving with a supercharger, intercooler, headers, coilovers, and a big goofy smile on your face when you leave. At least that has been my experience.

Don't forget the rollbar you walked out with... That sure was one colossal waste of money there!

TB/WP was replaced in 2006 @ 77k miles (car has 83K now) by previous owner. I'll go to TDR to have it looked at.

    Thanks for the replies.
