Not that it's news to us.
Sports Car International has been doing a special series this past year of the "Top Ten Sports Cars" from the past five decades. The Miata made the "Top Ten Sports Cars of the '90s" list a few issues back, and in the March '05 issue it made the "Top Ten Sports Cars of All Time" list, in some very illustrious company. Not only was it the only Japanese car to make the list, it was also arguably the only non-exotic to make the list as well. Here's the full list:
1. Ferrari 250 GTO
2. McLaren F1
3. Jaguar E-Type
4. Lamborghini Miura SV
5. Mercedes 300SL
6. Porsche 911 Carrera RS (tie)
6. Porsche 356 (tie)
8. Porsche Carrera GT
9. Shelby 289 Cobra
10. Mazda Miata
Thanks again to Mazda for making one of the greatest sports cars of all time, and one that almost anyone can afford to own and enjoy.

It was fixed, I tell ya...fixed!!!
Seriously, I am happy to see that they give credit to the car that really reinvented the roadster and made it affordable to many. I remember when they first came out hearing a story about how one of the top guys at Mazda was being so picky about the exhaust note. They got it right!!!
A well deserved honor!

I actually was sitting at a light next to a Carrera GT today (Royal Lane in Dallas). To make things even better, he jumped on it away from the light! They make a real nice sound. As I understand there are only 2 in DFW.
i saw another out at MSR one day, not on track, just parked.
