Thread: Knowing When to Say It's Over

Default Knowing When to Say It's Over

This is just sad. Grief over the loss of a relationship is something that should be kept private, not spilled in public. This guy needed a close friend to kick him the *ss and say "Dude, what are you thinking??"

    A differrent view:

They made a commitment for life - not until one of them got bored, tired, mad or whatever.

.....or until she had him committed....A $17,000 ad?!?!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming...'Wow! What a ride!'

I actually agree that marriage ought to be a commitment for life. But taking out a $17,000 ad in the newspaper is an insane way to deal with your marital problems.

Sounds like that money would have been better spent on marriage counseling.

I have a feeling that the money wasn't really an issue for them.

I am thinking about having a mural painted in our house apologizing for everything I have done in the past as well as everything I will do in the future! Figure it’s cheap insurance!

I believe at one time in the past - before Martin Luther - the Church was selling a document called an indulgence. I figured you already had a life-long indulgence from your bitter half :P

Since we're on the topic, today happens to be my 3RD anniversary And the saying that has gotten me this far is as follows:

"It is easier to ask forgiveness than permission"

No, really being married is the best thing that ever happened to me and anybody who finds their life partner and best friend is equally endowed. Given you don't need $17K ads to keep things alive...
