    Default Top for NB?

OK. Good weather in the short term, but the holes in my top aren't going to fly when it starts raining.

Where do you guys suggest getting a new top from? Install it yourself or have someone do it?

    Thanks!

How much do you want to spend? If no price get a robbin's top and have rogue install it.

If you want to DIY....I bought a new (budget top) from this place a few months back. No complaints.

    If not, check with Rogue.

Check the condition of your rain rail and tension cables before you order.

Thanks Sam. How hard was the install? The rain rail looks decent (it's the rubber one), but I don't have enough experience looking at others to know what to look for.

It's not hard....you might even find some fellow Miata owners to help you. The bottom part of the rail is semi-soft rubber and is usually not the problem. It's the crunchy top part where it attaches to the top and to the car.

The NB rails may be different though, I can't remember.

NB rain rail is different from the NA. All rubber from what I've read.

    Thanks for the help :)

My NA had the "budget" top that had the fixed rear window (no zipper) and no front-to-back seams. It was great if you had A/C or didn't want to hassle with zipping the back window every time. Not that hard to install.

i said screw the soft top after somebody broke into my car and sliced my top in 4 different spots, took it out entirely, and bought a used hard top then had it painted to match the car. spent 1200 total after paint work and lost some weight too. plus it looks cool and is easy to remove on good weather days or at the track.

I want a soft top. The hard top is too many compromises for me right now :) My wife thinks a hard top is the cool way to go (she likes the look, really wanted a solstice coupe), but for $1000 I've got better things to spend money on
