The color is AWESOME in the sun! It really looks like a mini Bumblebee froma glance! haha

Phase I is just about complete. Now I'll paint the wheels, and except for the top, the paint and body is done... good enough for what I wanted!

I spent almost all day yesterday putting it all back together, today I tied up a few loose ends. Notice the front turnsignal lenses are now smoked. The top is hurt, it leaks a little into the trunk and driving it to work this morning in the rain I found a leak coming from the drivers window. It was raining pretty hard, so hopefully it won't drive me too crazy.

For grins I took a picture with everything opened up... er, tranformed. My 9 yr old daughter informed me last night that it did kind of transform when I turned the lights on. haha.

This thread started out with pics of it on a trailer, so it seemed fitting to show the "after" on the trailer too, as I head off to my first autocross tomorrow!

Wheels painted. The color is still growing on me, but I'm not painting them again. I like this color on a car, silver with a blue tint (95 Lexus color), not so sure on my wheels Smoothed out the center caps too, filled the mazda logo. Next is decals, decals, decals.

I noticed a bunch of you running with Tire Rack and Discount Tires decals. What's the story there? In the off-road world, we run those decals in the hope that we can win some free tires at the end of an event (no guarantee). Is the same true in autocross? What other sponsors are good to show? Any specifics?

At ER and SCCA events, if you run discount tire stickers and stickers for one of 4 brands (hoosier, kuhmo, falken, yokohama -- you have to have those sorts of tires on your car), you get to fill out a card with your info. At the end of the year a drawing is done for free tires.

The Tire Rack is a major sponsor for SCCA autocross in divisional and national events. The windshield banner is one of the required decals for participation in those events. Some people just leave them on after the event.

I finally got my Mazda stickers and autobot logos (on "grill" & wheels) thanks to Graph-It.com. I'm guessing for the exterior I'm just about done. The interior is hurting, and the 20 year old suspension has definitely got to go. Not to mention I could use some decent tires and an engine that doesn't smoke. Ah well, in time I guess.

Today I replaced the CAS o-ring to eliminate a small leak that was causing a slipping clutch. New air filter (turns out it never even had a filter), new spark plugs and PCV.
