RS3 is IMHO the best tire in it's class. With your new mods and 225's I'm gonna have trouble getting a point-by.
Yeah like Mr BRG said, what are you talking about?! I've been a member at Hallett since like 2003 and am friends with Connie and Scott. They've always said the opposite to me. Going CW the last turn (which is turn 1 when going CCW) is more dangerous because there is very little runoff room compared to going CCW when turn 1 has a lot of runoff. Ask me and SNKSKNR's friend Russell and his Ford GT about which way is more risky! He put it into the tire wall going CW in last turn before the tower; if going CCW he would've had enough runoff to avoid the tire wall.
90 MX5 281k miles! - euro spec, Porsche Riviera Blue w/black hardtop, 97 motor swap, vintage Borbet rims, GC, FM shock hats/frame rails/rear sub-brace, AGX, sway bar, stb, Fidanza/ACT combo, EBC Yellows
92 COMMA SM - new paint coming soon...
#2 and #1 are more dangerous in CW, but still pale in comparison to the dangers of running any track in the NE or Midwest where real-estate is worth enough that a hard-wall is 20' off the track. Coming from a guy who looped the car at 90mph in the last turn at MSR-h and avoided the wall, I'm comfy with Hallett and it's "close" tire walls. I've also been off in #1 going CCW, in the wet, and slid off the track on the exit of one, over the hill, far enough down to re-enter the track in #2. I wonder if the "pack of 27's" we have running now is making the ARMC extra nervous? lol
TXMC: Drinkin, shootin, racin!
NC Eunos,
are you still selling your Saturday spot? Let me know.
Lee
He's not selling it now. He'll be there both days. He's up at Hallett this weekend too and may not see this till Sunday night.
I need to get another set of wheels for my Conti's.
