+1 on the bar, +1000 on the padding. An unpadded roll bar is a very substantial hard object ready to whack you in the head at 30 mph in the event someone hits your car at the right (wrong?) angle. Happened to a buddy of mine that got rear-ended sitting at a yield sign waiting for traffic to clear. He's okay now but had a headache for a couple of weeks and had to visit the dr. more than once -- and that was a low-speed hit.

    I'd do what you want.

I keep hearing "mouse trap" fables, and that red miata picture keeps popping up, but i have never heard someone say "i knew _____ and they were injured by their style bar". Does anyone know the story behind the red car? Everything I've seen or heard is conjecture. If you roll a miata without any bar, i think you would be just as fscked as if you had a style bar. I kinda like the look of your bar.... *puts on flame suit*

There was someone on here this year that rolled w/o a roll bar and no major injuries.

Just like that everyone knows someone that's survived an accident because they didn't have airbags and weren't wearing a seatbelt.... you still wear a seatbelt when you ride in a car, right?

I spit my water on my monitor when I read that in the link yesterday. If I had an account over there, I would have replied to that comment alone.
