Thread: New best at ECR

    Default New best at ECR

Ran the NASA TT this weekend. Place 1st in TTB setting a new track record for TTB of 1:59.6.

Was on pace to run a 1:57 but got too excited and blew it in the last turn.

Thanks. I wanted that 1:57 really bad. turned in too soon on 11, front tire clipped curbing and backend started bouncing, unsettling the car, it was over at that point.

I was impressed to see you turn the 1:59 - yours and Matt's car looked so wicked digging out of 11 ! To find two more seconds is very nice!

Way to go, ken o, congratulations.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

    Wow! 116 on back straight.

    Congrats!

Did any of the TTA cars get under 2:00?

There was a black and silver Vette running with the Ferarri 355 and LS1 swapped RX-7. I would be surprised if he was not turning sub 2:00 laps.

Not sure if the black Z06 cracked 2:00. On Saturday I ran a 2:00.8 and the black Z06 (TTA front runner) ran a 2:00.7.

The LS1/RX7 did not get into 2:00.

The Vette would have been only one I thought that would. The RX-7 not so much - but it did sound great!

If it was the same LS1/RX7 from OK that was at MSR last year when I was there with the Evo... they're slow. I was faster than them at MSR on street tires than they were on rcomps (same class, TT-S).

FWIW, I was at a GPS indicated >125 on the back straight in the Evo on E85 with street tires (NT05s). That's part of the reason I got rid of it. There is such a thing as too damn fast.

I'm leaving a ton of time on the track in braking.

He was probably too busy brake checking and blocking people to concentrate on laps.

/\ LOL. Seriously though, every session he ran; he checked out and was easily 20 car lengths ahead of the everyone else. I don't know if we are talking about the same Vette or not. This guy was seriously fast, and rattled the floorboards of the clubhouse on flyby.

To me, Johnwag, and a few others at MSR-C this year. There was a particularly close call on the cool down where he brake checked me hard as hell, I thought I hit him. I met a few other people at Hallett in June who endured the same experience (where he wrecked one of his cars).

Then we are talking about a different Vette all together. The Vette I am talking about was black in the front, silver from the rear with a ripped paint scheme. Not the convertible. This Vette was gutted to within an inch of its life, lexan everything, full roll cage, and a Coupe. Was as fast if not faster than the white vette that looked like Captain America. He also was not in your run group. I believe TTA
