I have tried also and gave up. No avatars and stuff. It's good and bad.
I do a lot of mobile surfing and since the upgrade this site comes up in mobile mode. I can't for the life of me find the 'switch to classic version' that virtually every mobile version website has at the bottom of the page.
I don't mind the mobile site, but honestly I don't have much use for it since my phone surfs most regular pages with ease, now android 2.2 even has flash support
Am I just stupid, or has anyone else wondered the same thing??

I'm with you. Not a fan of the mobile site. It just showed up the other day and I can't figure out how to revert back.

Yeah, it switched on my iPad also, and is REALLY annoying.

The mobile version works best on my "dumb" phone (Samsung Eternity). I cannot upgrade to a smarter phone for a few months, so can you make it optional??

i kinda liked the mobile version as it was easier without avatars and such.... any easy way to make it an option?

I'll see what I can do. Right now, it's being a PITA, and I haven't had the free time to improve upon the existing mods to make one that actually works.

no biggie. i'm probably the only one that liked it... it was just less cluttered in my opinion....

I preferred with mobile site on my phone since the blackberry browser sucks
email sucks on other platforms and I do far more email/txt than browsing. If you're on AT&T you might check out the torch.
I'm on Verizon, and won't switch. Will probably get the Droid 2 for myself and the wife.
More often than not I use the email clients for reading, not writing. If I'm going to write alot I'm either at home, or will forward to work. So don't really think there will be that much of an issue, although I would like the better browsing and other capabilities.

I use Opera Mini on my phone and loved the mobile site.
It used to work great in regular mode too but now that you switched it back something is different because it freaks out and only shows the forum for about two seconds when I go to browse a thread..
..so no mobile browsing for me for a bit I guess.
It definitely would be nice to be able to switch between the two.

I'm on an iPhone and I preferred the mobile site as well. Safari is a decent mobile browser, but I prefer the uncluttered look of the mobile site when I'm browsing on the phone.

The "mobile site" option will be back... At the moment, the tools to implement it are a cluster fvck.
I'll look into the Opera mini bug, but it works fine in Opera on the iPhone... or at least my iPhone...
