i just had this same problem and a new afm fixed the issue. took about 10 minutes to swap out the old one.
Seems as if when the M is cold it does not do this but after warm up it has a tendency to want to stumble a bit when leaving a light or stop sign. when above say 1500 rpm
it seems fine.
I would think it would be a bit lean, Is this correct? Can I adjust it at the mixture
on the intake plenum ?
My cat con gaskets need replaced too, would a leak here cause this ?

Are you referring to the Mass airflow sensor in the intake tract.?

What year models are we talking about here? The Air Flow Meter and the Mass Airflow Sensor are two different things.

Update purchased used AFM from a vendor and it was installed tonight. Stumble seems to have vanished as was stated in earlier
post as the culprit. I also installed a new cat convertor. All is much much better now....
thanks for the help...
