Rangers need to pay whatever it takes to keep Lee off of the Yankees.

It seems that the new TV contract will allow them to throw crazy money at him, but just because they can doesn't mean they should. It has been almost 10 years since they spent $252M on A-Roid and I am sure the results of that fiasco have made some a little gun shy. Is it time to get back on the horse and bring the Brinks truck out of cold storage?
Good question that i dont have the answer to. I just dont know. On one hand, you would think it will take an obscene amount of money. But I read an article in the DMN yesterday that mainly centered around his wife andhow they are from Arkansas, how much they have enjoyed the fact that he is playing closer to home and what that has allowed them to do in regards to him coming home during the season, them coming to see games etc. How the fact that he is getting a lot of the glory (not that he seeks it) by being here and being a part of this rather than being just another part of the Yankess Bazillionaire roster.

In today's world of proffessional sports, I know it is pie in the sky fanboy dreaming, but maybe he really does mean it when he says it's more about being part of a winner and the other things than just the money. We shall see.

I've been a Ranger's fan for a long time and I am just enjoying the hell out of this.

It was a good write-up....hopefully being this close to his home and family will be a plus for the Rangers come December.

I would think with their new big television contract the Rangers have would have the money to match any Yankee offer, but then again it's the Yankees... I think it all comes down to where Cliff wants to play.
I think whoever wins this series Rangers vs. Yankees has the best shot at Cliff Lee in the offseason...he wants a ring.

Some useless trivia... The Washington Senators (in 1972 became the Texas Rangers) beat the New York Yankees in the 1933 ALC to move on to play the New York Giants in the World Series. They lost 2 straight games, w2 g4,w1 g6, won the 3rd w4 g0, lost the last 2 w1 g2, w3 g4 to lose the series. The New York Giants became the San Francisco Giants in 1958. History may be about to repeat itself...I hope they win the series this time tho.
Senator left fielder Heinie Manush was tossed out of a game with the Giants when he ended an argument with an umpire by grabbing the umps elastic bow tie and snapping it back at the umps neck ala 3 stooges nyuk nyuk nyuk.

What a great game and come-back win last night! Hard to believe they are 1 win away from their first World Series trip!!!

That was a bona-fide ASS-POUNDING! The last two games have just reinforced to me that the Yankee fan is the Worst Fan in Baseball. They were filing out of the stadium with the bases loaded and the tying run at the plate! What a bunch of sore losers...

I don't wanna jinx anything, but I'm still in shock that the little Rangers could be making World Series plans tonight...

After witnessing what happened in the last 3 playoff series versus the Bankees, it's just unreal to see this. The ALDS versus Tampa was nerve wracking for me, I guess because I thought, "They have a chance to win this one." So the expectations were kind of high. I just was not nervous about the first game or any of these ALCS games I guess because I just thought, "This is just icing on the cake. They arent expected to win, so no presure." But they are just dominating this series in every aspect. Pitching, hitting, power, defense. You take away a 1/2 inning from game 1 and it's just a laugher. I don't want to jinx them, but what else can you call it? these past 3 games have just been an ass whupin'. After giving up those 5 runs in the 8th of the first game, I truly thought, "They are just going to fold the tents and go home. No way they come back from something like that." But, I have to give them and Warsh credit. Now that Hamilton is hitting, it would be nice to see Vlad sort of break out of his mini-funk. And, what a deal they got for Molina! The Giants basically paying the rest of his salary for the year. All the talk about resigning Lee is all well and good but at the same time, lets lock up the GM while we can.

I'd like to that fan that interfered with Cruz at the END of the game.
Bet he wasn't so cocky anymore...

Read an article earlier today where they named the fan and had a brief interview with him and his brother. Both claimed he never touched the glove. Sure.

I love the baseball they are playing. So aggressive but smart. Look at Cruz tagging up moving from first to second on the deep fly ball. When was the last time you saw that? That is almost a no-no. But that drew the intentional BB for Murphy and that brought to the plate Molina who hit the 3 run jimmy jack to take the lead. Sure Molina hit it, but it is the whole team aspect that goes into setting that up that is great for me. If Cruz doesn't advance there who knows what happens.

As for the kids that interfered, I want them to talk to the kid on the left who had the little pussy slap at Nelson's glove, then I want them to talk to the idiot with his hat sideways talking shit as Nelson walked away.

I'm confident knowing that the Yankees have to beat Colby and (if it comes down to it) Lee in Game 7, both games at home.
If you are at depressed with todays game, think of it this way...The Yankees pitched their Ace against our not-Ace, in Yankee stadium.
It's a game the Yankees really should have won...

I think it's funny that all the Yankee fans are leaving the stadium in hoards before they even lose and 500 Rangers fans greeted the Rangers when they came home after a loss at almost one o'clock in the morning...
    Hmmm...who's the better fans?
