Thread: NC plugs/wires?

  1. #1

    Default NC plugs/wires?

Anyone know if the NC is as hard on (and sensitive about) plugs and wires as the NA/NB's? I've developed a slightly rough idle this week, and I'm wondering where to start my diagnosis.

I think sammm is on to something. If there is a hole in the top, it can let air escape. That would lower the pressure thought the whole system (Pascal's Law).
With insufficient air pressure, rough idle could happen very easily. I'm just saying......

People with crappy NB's try to steal my seats when I'm parked.

I would take it to the dealer and see if they will cover it under warranty. Plugs and wires just should not wear out that fast.

Yea Josh I agree with Titus! It does seem rather early to be needing to replace anything on that car.

I think I changed the plugs once when I started tracking the car, but it's been a while.

There are no wires since it's COP.

If it's YOU that's developed the rough idle, I'd suggest you swith from whisky to vodka. Otherwise, try changing out the sparkplugs (I don't know what milage you have on them, but 60K+ suggests a tune-up) and see what happens. A cheap parts-replacement move to see if it pays off.

Now why would you want to do something like that? We are just starting to get close to the heart of the issue.... You need to add a little Vodka to thin out the mixture.

OK, vodka it is! Mix it into the oil, right??

gonna pull the plugs tonight and check them. Car has less than 50K, and I know they were replaced at least once prior to 40K, but it has been tracked and autox'd a bunch. not gonna replace irridium plugs until I've taken a good look.

I did find a thread on the pointy board regarding problems with the wiring to the coils on early 06 models, so I'm going to inspect that for strain too.
