Thread: Nose Art?

  1. #1

    Default Nose Art?

Would anyone care to recommend some good resources on Nose Art? I'm looking for photos (preferably in colour), restoration/re-creation info...that sort of thing.

I've run across a couple of books that look promising and am looking for some great suggestions.

Hey, a couple of those links are perfect. Thanks! I hardly expected so many responses.

    Great pics, Stevan!
I'm interested in the pin-up style art that I mostly associate with bombers. No particular bird or group of them, though. Hoping for some inspiration.
I need to call you anyway, don't I? It's been forever!

    Hal,
Maybe. Depends on if I can get past the stick figure stage of painting skills.

I'm a huge fan of nose art and cheesecake (not the dessert) although even yummier. It's also known as Vargas Girls, Pin-up, Calender Girl, etc...

I have a large Gil Elvgrin book you are welcome to borrow.

Hmmm... Oddly enough, I hadn't even thought about Vargas-style images. Thank you, BR! I might just need to take you up on that book offer.
