AJ, (aka Bam! on the forum) used to be the guy to go to at the NTB but he was let go about a year ago. Last I heard, he was working at PerformanceSpeedTech.com doing alignments. He said to ask for Asian AJ as there are two of them.
I installed a shim kit to increase camber and need an alignment. Ntb on 820 west loop could not find my car in their system and Goodyear would not align it away from factory specs. Seems like their was an NTB peole used and liked. Zims will do it for $180. I was hoping for a place where I could pay once and get it aligned multiple times during the year to adjust settings.
Any suggestions?

Try PTP (ProTuningPerformance). They're running a special if you're going to a TDE event.
Here's their DI specials: http://www.dallasimports.net/forums/...owtopic=142256
Pro-Tuning Performance is now offering one time alignments starting at $85 (some vehicles may be more, call us for more details) or 1 year of free alignment adjustments for only $135. We still offer our guaranteed tire mounting and balancing services starting at $17 per wheel (once again, some exceptions may apply, call for details).

I'd go check out PTP. A lot of the Texas Time Trials guys use them and the reviews are all glowing. I'm sure they would do the same special price aligment deal for Texas Time Trial regulars too! Talk to Forrest and tell him I sent you.
I am having them do it this afternoon. They are 2 miles from my work. Thanks everyone.
+1 for PTP as well. I had my Miata done last week.

I pinged him on DI and they are trying to figure out how to work that sort of thing.
We have had numerous alignment and tire inquiries recently, so we decided to offer a special to the local Miata community. I'll explain a bit more about our services, for those of you that are not familiar with what we offer.
(Our brand new Hunter alignment rack has more features and options than any other in Texas, including a built in bump steer winch.)
First lets talk alignments. When a customer brings their car to us for an alignment, we first go over what the customer uses the car for, as well as what they want from their alignment. If the customer does not provide alignment specs, we will recommend settings that best fit their needs. We will also take the factory specs into consideration, but often they are not specific enough. For example, the "factory specified acceptable" front camber range for a 2006 G35 is between -1.2 and +.3 degrees for a total range of 1.5 degrees. Although the factory states that either end of that range is acceptable and is in the "green" area of the alignment sheet, most drivers will be able to feel a difference in performance between those two settings. Therefore, when we align a car, we determine specs that best fit what the car will be used for and align it as close to those specs as possible. For reference, we aim for camber settings no more than +/- .1 degree of the target value (compared to +/- .75 degrees stated by the manufacturer). Furthermore, we also consider cross camber, total toe, etc. to ensure that the car feels and performs in a balanced manner. The end result is an alignment that is custom tailored to you, your vehicle and the type of driving/racing you use it for. This is the same method we use to align our race cars and it has resulted in numerous wins, both locally and nationally. Call us if you have questions about what we can do for you.
As for tire services, all tire services are performed using our industry leading Hunter tire machine and backed by our "Zero Scratches" policy. We guarantee that we will not scratch or damage your wheels in any way. Part of the reason that we can do this is because of the way that our tire machine is designed. The tire machine that you find at most tire shops utilize metal claws with sharp teeth to hold your wheel in place. These claws cause scratches, dents and chips, especially on polished or coated surfaces. However, our tire machine is designed with high priced wheels in mind. Our Hunter tire machine replaces those damaging metal claws with rubber, which protects the finish on your wheels. Furthermore, our employees are highly trained and take pride in protecting the condition of your wheels.
We can also offer great prices on tires so if you need a set, just let us know. We are a dealer for many different brands such as Hoosier, Bridgestone, Nitto, Toyo, Dunlop, Kumho, BFGoodrich, Yokohama, Hankook, Falken, Federal, Nexen and many more. If you have any questions, or to schedule an appointment, feel free to call or PM us.

I use 5th Gear in Highland Village, who actually works on racecars so aligning to our specs isn't outlandish. It's wild when you drop the car off and the tech asks you "how much weight do you want in the car?" rather than fighting with you over specs and telling you how much you don't know.
PTP looks like a great, affordable option, if I knew about that price I'd go there for the last one. Forrest, what do you guys charge for the useless "ASE certified track inspection" so I can run with the dumb Austin group?
NTB is a real trip. I paid for a 3-year "custom alignment" at NTB and a 1-year on my daily. Chase Hatcher who manages the place is a real nut, he probably needs psychoactive medication to control his shouting rants and fits. He combined the accounts on my cars and insisted that I was stealing from him. So I asked a tech to align my turbo car, with the 3-year custom spec invoice in hand to align my car to the specs I requested and the other manager pushed my car out into the parking lot and told me to leave. Today, after spending almost $400 on alignments there, no one will align either car at any NTB. I discussed this with the corporate office and regional manager and neither seem to care that I've paid all this money, and they feel no obligation to make-good or refund my money. I'm toying with the idea of a small claims suit.
