If that's as good as it gets, we're in trouble. Those guys have zero chemistry and no sense of humor. Stupid cars stunts only get you so far...

I'll give it chance. It takes a while to build chemistry.

I personally don't think that American TV has the ability to replicate what the BBC has done with top gear. We are much to interested in other things. I've been watching this show on and off called Supercar Showdown or something like that and it's the same old stuff you see on any American TV. Cars constantly sliding sideways, the two drivers talking crap to eachother, drag races ect.

I understand they also do the same thing on Top Gear BBC BUT for somereason it's different. Don't know hard to explain.

There is nothing new and fresh here. Hasn't sparked my interest yet... :)
I use to worry about money; but then realized I don't HAVE anything to worry about.

Supercar Showdown is such a staged spectacle, from the contests designed to keep it "close" to the fake aggressive banter between Tracy and Foust. I watch it with the sound off.

Here's the key to BBC's success with Top Gear: it's not about the cars. It's about Clarkson's ego, Hammond's wit (and teeth), and May's eccentricity. These three guys could make a show about cookware interesting. The fact that they hoon around in expensive cars and aren't afraid to express their opinions is icing on the cake.

If you watch any of the other shows they host, you'll see the absolute truth in this statement. All three of them are brilliant presenters.

I've recorded all of James May's shows about toys. Looks like an awesome series!

I think we have a potentially better American version of Top Gear right here at DFWMiata. POS for Jeremy Clarkson, Trickyrix fits the Hammond part, Nails even looks a bit like James May, and well for the Stig we have MiataMoto. Somebody just needs to bring a vid cam to the next GTG, Kellers would make for a great set. We have MSR or Pennington for our test track. What do you think?

Clarkson is tall and drives fast, Nails is too fast to be Capt. Slow, and everyone already knows who Miatamoto really is...

Anyone who knows racing has at least heard of everyone the STIG has been. The idea is to keep the helmet on and no talking and bam you have your STIG. Even if everyone knows the man under the suit and helmet it doesn't mean they know he is the stig.

Agreed. I like to watch car shows anyway, it looks like fun to see Vipers abused, Cadillacs jumped, and see new exotics. Ill watch it.

I think I'd rather see Rick, Big Hoss and Chum host this.
