Forgive me... I've slept since then. I thought you already had a 6 speed, no?

Question about noobs on track. IF I can make the MSR-C event with NASA, I'll be in HPDE 1 and possibly 2 if I do the two day event. How will timing be handled since they do not rent transponders to group1/2 drivers? (posted this in the TXMC forum, but it seems kinda dead over there)

we can put someone's traqmate or gps type lap timer, if needed we can stopwatch ya' also. this something we deal with alot during the open track day events where they don't have amb timing. this wasn't an issue last year with nasa because they would rent to you anyway. this year it might be an issue with the new guy running it. i think they aren't gonna run the amb timing even if you have your own transponder. sux. hopefully if we get enough people to join the fun we can buy a TxMC beacon type lap timer for these situations. while we are all about having fun, honestly, if your in hpde 1 we aren't gonna time you. i don't want someone with zero experience trying to go fast on our acct. and getting hurt. do a few trackdays and get the basics down before trying to go fast. if you have a few events in de2 (blue group) or higher, it's all good.

lastly, alot of our friends from last year are gone to do texas mile with the old directors. these new people sound like "letter of the law" types so while we aren't technically doing anything wrong, let's not mention TxMC when you check in at registration in the morning. they won't know what your talkin' about and could upset some of the new folks. what's the first rule of fight club?

sorry about not getting to you earlier, i try to check the supermiata website everyday. but there hasn't been much action lately.

    Not in the face?

To be more TxMC-related, my car is going to be running by June or I'm throwing it out. So I should make at least one event this year.

I was planning on running atleast two TXMCs this season. But now I have some thoughts. I've run with PCA several times, but every time it is the same scenario... Start out in green, move to Blue, get checked off for Solo and finally get to enjoy my last two sessions of the weekend to myself. Sign up for another PCA - and same damn thing... start out in Green and so forth. What is the purpose of getting signed off? Hell, the way they have it now there is no way I will ever see a Yellow run group unless I make this a full time profession. Period! I am done wasting time and money only to have to prove myself everytime I enter the gates. BS.
Also, will I have to start out in HPDE I just to run a TXMC? I am no greenhorn here, but moving up through the ranks should have some stability. I've been campaigning this car since '07 with many trophies and accomplishments under its belt. But running in a parking lot gets very boring, very fast. Been tracking the car since '08, and nothing to show for it other than name tags and lanyard. BFD!
So, is it the consensus that doing two or three events not even worth it?

I was put in TT based upon email experience, you'll be no lower than DE3. We saved money this year on name tags and lanyards and bought beer instead; well, with the money we saved this year...
