You could get a can of prussian blue marking dye and put it on the center hole mount. It would transfer to the car and give you the exact location.

    By machinists and toolmakers
Prussian blue in oil paint is the traditional material used for spotting metal surfaces such as surface plates and bearings for hand scraping. A thin layer of non-drying paste is applied to a reference surface and transfers to the high spots of the workpiece. The toolmaker then scrapes, stones, or otherwise removes the high spots. Prussian blue is preferable because it will not abrade the extremely precise reference surfaces as many ground pigments may.

DIY paint is not that hard to do. The weather in which you choose to paint in as well as the type paint. primer, clear coat all contribute
to the final outcome being -great, good, ok, or terrible. Even in the best attempts it is not as durable as the real deal ( pro paint job).
Will it do the trick ? Yes it can. It really depends on how you want your car to look. Customs and racers look better with not so perfect
paint jobs or rattle can jobs. ( much easier to fix if it gets mucked up ) I have been painting with spray cans for over 40 years on nearly
every object you can think of. It can be done with great success. To a degree. There are many do's and dont's to DIY paint.

Compressor and paint guns - Paint fast - large areas- Harder to mix and match each batch- runs easy- Paint can be very expensive.
Rattle cans - Much cheaper to do- smaller areas - Let dry well between coats- Use primer- sand- spray color in 2 or 3 light coats-
letting each dry 12 hours-Sun is your friend- as is low humidity- Clear coat last - 2 coats at least 4 hours between coats.
Again sun shine is your friend here. Overcast or high humidity days are considered to be NO PAINT DAYS....
When working with cans -let each coat dry good before attempting the next move.
I will have pics of the skirts painted and installed on the M all done with rattle cans. SOON!

Well at least if you added a coolie spoiler someone at Eagles Canyon might take a picture of your car.
