Can't make it...sorry. Take good notes.
It was the best meeting evar! There was blackjack and hookers... come to think about it, we forgot the meeting part.
We made a few decisions, but nothing huge. I will let post them later after we work out a few things.
Jerrett Jan, David Temming, Hal Collins, and Jim Harris met on January 21, 2011 to discuss the status of the NTAXS events and any changes for the 2011 season.
The series is in good shape and running well. We have had good attendance for the past two seasons and we have developed a reputation for fun and organized events. In order to ensure that things continue in this positive direction, we have elected to make the following changes to the NTAXS autocross events:
- Increase the fee for events at the TMS Bus Lot from $35 to $40. This is required in order to keep up with the rising costs of using the site.
- All events will have a hard limit of 65 entries. Previously, Honda S2000 drivers could register after the event limit was reached.
- We will have work assignments for sweeping gravel at Lone Star Park events if the event exceeds 50 entries. Workers can use the NATXS brooms or bring their own gas-powered blowers. The assignment will require work from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM, and then again for 30 minutes during the lunch break. This will cover their work assignments for the event. Please contact me at jrj512 at dfwmx5 dot com if you are interested in this assignment.
- Starting with the 2011 season, each class’s season champion will receive a free entry to an event during the following season.
- The person working the Starter position will now be provided head phones in order to muffle the sound of cars leaving the starting line and ensure they can hear the radio. If this works well, then we will consider providing the same for workers in timing.
- Free ear plugs will be available to all participants.
- The club will continue to provide water, but we ask users to donate in order to help cover the expense. There will be a donation container next to the cooler.
- Announcer will be a work assignment, provided that we can cover the core work assignments. Jim Harris is donating a flat-screen monitor that the announcer can use to reference times and standings. Please contact me at jrj512 at dfwmx5 dot com if you are interested in this assignment.
The rules and documentation will be updated to reflect this information.
We look forward to seeing you at our 2011 events.
Sounds good!

My car exceeds my driving ability. That's the only possible explanation.
Really what is the logic behind this decision?- Free ear plugs will be available to all participants
Is it to make sure the last thing you hear before you go meet you maker isn't "LOOK OUT".
I can think of a red NA that earplugs would have been nice for.

You can still hear people talk with the foam earplugs in. I think it's a good idea. A better idea would be to get rid of the ear bleeders at all events. You don't even need a sound meter to tell which cars are way too loud. (I'm looking at you red Miata and sliver auto Infiniti G35)
Looking forward to another great year.
