Can anybody clue me in to the reformulated gas the the metromess uses? I think I understand that we have some crappy gas that costs extra, robs power and efficiency from our cars. Where do you go to get "regular" gas? Any useful explanations about this would be appreciated. I fully expect a great explanation from you knowledable gearheads, and can't think of a better place than this forum to find this explanation. (That's a complement to you guys).

OK, so where can you get gas that's not reformulated? How far would you have to drive? Denton? Oklahoma? Kresson? Allen? Is there a sticker on gas pumps showing that your getting reformulated gas? One of my tanks of gas on a trip from Dallas to Breckenridge Co last summer was 33 mpg (my personal record so far), all highway of course, but still going from 75-80 mph. Do I attribute some of that to non-reformulated gas?
I'm asking these questions because Ed Wallace mentioned reformulated gas on his radio show yesterday morning...

Is this the same Ed Wallace that has the column in the Star Telegram's Automotive section every weekend? That guy couldn't write his way out of a wet paper sack.

That's the one. Mel has fourth grade students that have more innate writing talent (not to mention better spell checking software, apparently) than that schmuck.

Right, a car salesman at that... I can't tell if he wants to do a radio talk show about cars, or about politics. He spends more time on politics than anything else...

A few years ago I filled up my Porsche 944 in Oklahoma and got 33 miles to the gallon. Gas at home I only got about 27-28 to the gallon. Me thinks that the "new" gas sucks.
Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...
