Lots of fun today - thanks to everyone who makes these events happen

Congrats to ozmdd on FTD and thanks for the co-drive. I managed 2nd in class and 4th overall my first time out with in it - I guess I can't blame the car...

You did get to meet me, I just failed at introducing myself. I was the guy in the texas rangers hat that helped load the trailer. I think next time I'm gonna have one of our local pros ride along with me so I can get some pointers instead of just guessing on what to do to improve.

    Any noise problems?
What's left of a '96 Miata with stock clutch.
My car exceeds my driving ability. That's the only possible explanation.

We had a few cars fail the sound limits, but no ear bleeders showed up. It was very nice to not have any stupid loud cars at an event.

There were a few offenders. I know of 2 cars that had to sit out the event, but at least 1 of them was able to grab a co-drive.

Sadly, visitor cars and bikes were loudest. But I doubt that's a point in our favor.

True, a few ass clowns watching and blowing through the side streets etc. I don't think it was frequent enough to make a difference unless someone was keeping a strict eye the entire day and was being anal.

My car failed by 1 even though stock Elises with the same exhaust around the country regularly are under 100 (by a good margin) but rules are rules. I wouldn't cry if PMS went bye bye but it's never good to lose any site.

And the other was offered several co-drives, but he just decided to sit the PM runs out. He was able to get his AM runs in and he worked his AM shift, which is cool.

As much as it sucked to have to tell people they either had to modify their exhaust or park it, it represents the "future of autox" at a lot of events. Might as well help people get accustomed to noise monitoring and how to abate.

I'm considering becoming a Supertrapp dealer and setting-up a table with a bunch of the bolt-on sleeve versions. :) Maybe just buy a box of steel wool and some window screen and sell "kits!"

I was surprised how well the steel wool worked. The Cavalier literally had no muffler, hence the super loud noise but he just stuffed a bunch of that in the pipe, covered it with some more as a screen and clamped it, went from 103+ to the 80 range!
